Barbara Burt was the very first guest we welcomed at aSPArations, and came in before we had officially opened. Barbara wasn't just 1 of our guests. She was 1 of us: a true member of our salon family! In her own words, "I am, and always will be an aSPArations girl!"

It didn't matter if we were having a bad day; the moment we saw "Barbara Burt" was scheduled for services, no matter who she was scheduled with, we knew it was going to be a GREAT day for our entire team as her presence lit up the entire building!

To know Barbara, was to love her. She was the perfect blend of the kindest person in the world, mixed with just the right amount of sass to keep things interesting! She loved her family & always filled us in on their latest happenings. She lived an amazing and incredible life, filled with travel and adventure. She was a giver of life & joy. She would bring our entire team Chinese food just because she knew we had a busy day ahead and didn't want us to forget to eat, or even bringing us Christmas goodies during her final days. While we always considered our relationship special, that's just how she treated those she considered special in her life, and we have heard countless stories of similar actions.

May we all live a life and give light as abundantly as Barbara.

Scholarship Details

As an educator, Barbara placed great value on the importance of education, and we know the beauty & wellness industry gave Barbara great pleasure. In hopes of always keeping her memory alive, aSPArations has created the Barbara Burt Beauty Scholarship for those seeking a career in the beauty and wellness industry.

aSPArations is proud to offer $1,000 total in scholarships to local Cosmetologists, Barbers, Nail Artists, Estheticians & Massage students each year! 

A selection committee will review all eligible applications. The scholarships will be applied toward tuition and education expenses owed to the school with the check being made payable to the school on behalf of the student. Applicants must be in good standing as of the submission date. Applicants must have maintained at least 80% attendance, 80% grade average. The applicant must be enrolled in a barber, cosmetology, esthetics, massage or nail artist program and must have completed at least 50% of the required program hours prior to the check being released. The application must also be verified by a school official.

The recipient’s names and video footage may be used for marketing and promotional purposes as well as use on our website.
